KHACHATURIAN: Symphony Nº 3 for Orchestra, Organ and 15 Trumpets
RIMSKY-KORSAKOFF: Russian Easter Overture
MEMDELSSOHN: A Midsummers Night’s Dream - Incidental Music*
Overture, Scherzo, Nocturne and Wedding MarchStokowski has achieved here a sonic blockbuster with the 3rd Symphony of Khachaturian and the familiar Russian Easter Overture of Rimsky-Korsakoff. Worry not, there is no use of a baritone solo as was the case in an earlier Stokowski recording of this familiar overture, all with incredible brass and low end effects. The Martinon Mendelssohn is a rare recording and demos wonderful playing especially from the CSO brass. Truly one of the best recording of this music ever.

HAYDN: Symphony Nº 45 in F Sharp Minor ("Farewell")
HAYDN: Symphony Nº 55 in E Flat Major ("Schoolmaster")
Two Haydn name symphonies in very unique, special performances. Van Otterloo bring both forth with that unique Netherlands approach. The Hague orchestra plays superbly and with plenty of energy.
